No Trust in America

In his speech today, corresponding to 19 May 2011, American President Obama tried to present himself as the prophet of change in the Arab region, standing beside the peoples against injustice and despotism. The president spoke about the injustice inflicted on the Arab peoples in a way that would lead the ignorant to believe that innocence itself had drawn its meaning from his great heart. He said that he stood with the Arab revolutions, that he would work to support the Arab peoples, and that he would pressure Arab rulers for change.

The American president did not tell his listeners how keen America has been on killing the souls of Arabs and Muslims, destroying their morale, and keeping them as mere slaves serving their masters among the tyrannical rulers, who have always been the worst conspirators against the interests of the Arab nation. Here I set down the following points:

It is America that took over Britain’s and France’s legacy of control over installed Arab rulers, foremost among them the tribal monarchic rulers, and it is America that supported many despotic rulers who described themselves as revolutionaries. America supported despotism and tyranny in the Arab countries, and insisted on keeping Arabs outside the framework of freedom.

It is America that has been plundering the wealth of the Arabs over the course of decades.

It is America that supports Israel in every field, and it is America that denies the established rights of the Palestinian people.

It is America that has conspired against every Arab regime that stood up to Israel.

America occupied Iraq, and it maintains military bases in many Arab countries with the aim of pursuing the peoples of the region, Arabs and Muslims alike.

America has killed more Arabs and Muslims than the Arab despots themselves have killed, and has committed horrifying war crimes against civilians in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine, Lebanon, and so on.

…Israel’s agents among the rulers, and it refused to recognize the elections in Algeria and Palestine. All its talk of democracy is a lie with no basis.

America has bought thousands of Arab intellectuals and university professors to serve as brokers against their own peoples. It has lavished huge sums of money on these traitors in order to promote its policies in the region.

America has encouraged internal wars in the region, particularly among the Arabs themselves, and between the Arabs and Iran, and it continues to work in this direction.

America drains the financial resources of the Gulf through arms purchases.

The list of American crimes against Arabs and Muslims is long.

After all these crimes, will America turn into a gentle lamb, or a dove of love and peace?

America is now trying to adapt to the new Arab circumstances, and it has no objection to throwing its client rulers into the trash, and to trying to deceive the peoples in order to win their goodwill. The Americans see the victories of the Arab peoples, they see the courage of the Arab human being, and they see in that a threat to their interests. They understand that confronting the peoples does not work, and that it is better to work at winning their goodwill through charlatanry, deception, lies, and disinformation.

America has committed crimes against Arabs and Muslims, and it cannot be trusted. The American president demonstrated his intent to continue this criminality through his support for Israel and his commitment to its security. He spoke of Arab terrorism and of Israel’s security, entirely forgetting that it is Israel that has manufactured the wars in the region, and that it is Israel that continues its aggression, not only against the Palestinian people, but against all the peoples of the region.

For this reason we must be very cautious, and we must not be deceived by Obama’s ingratiating words. It is important that he know that friendship with the Arabs and concern for Israel cannot coexist. If the American president wants the goodwill of the Arabs, he must first abandon Israel.
